The Budget contained few surprises.
The CAT Group (a) threshold increased to €335,000 from 09 October 2019.
The property sector will likely be disappointed with the increase in the rate of commercial stamp duty. The rate of stamp duty on commercial property transactions is increasing from 6% to 7.5%. CGT Relief for Farm Restructuring has been extended for a further 3 years, until 31 December 2022. This measure is subject to State aid approval.
Finally the legislation also formally deals with the increased CAT threshold for children now at €335,000.
